How do we walk away from our History?

First of all we really have to look at ourselves. We must decide what history is to ourselves.

History can mean a lot of things for a lot of people. Do we not fight wars over peoples history? What would happen if one day we woke up and decided that enough anger, mistrust, angst, hatred, sorrow, had been used? What would happen to us as an individual or even as a group of people if we said, ‘enough is enough’? Continue reading

Stories: anger-vs-happiness

As I have worked with clients at Life Learning Center of Self I have begun using the term ‘Stories’. My interpretation of this word is our life experiences. As I work with a client we come to a space where an understanding comes that to make choices has always been our right.

Yet not all of us have found a way of being conscious of when we choose something in our lives. As we get to know one another it allows for the discussions on, ” How to recognize even as a small child our choices” for ourselves. Continue reading

Who’s telling the Truth,”Them or Me?”

I think the hardest thing about having true communications with others is not getting lost in questioning what are facts and what is fiction with our stories and other peoples stories.

Beginning To Be In Charge of My Own Stories…..

When we come to this point in our lives we are very excited. Are we ready to change how we look at  the experiences that we have had in the past? To start looking at them as the person that directed how the story begins ? To ask what characters we’re going to put in the plot, the sub-plot and the ending?

We tend to feel that we did not have a choice in the characters in our stories. Yet how would it make you feel to discover that all of the people who you have had in your life were always by your choice. Now, are you going to begin to judge yourself on the choices you made? This is where you can stop yourself before you get lost. Some of us can get lost for years right here. Continue reading

“Do I know my story has changed?”

What happens in our lives that let’s us know that by changing our stories we are now on the right track? The answer is so different for each and every one of us. This is why when we go outside of ourselves for validation we are getting advice that does not quite fit our story.

I have found that our life itself tells us exactly where we are standing when we begin to change our stories.

What I mean by this is we are each different, even if slightly. We are because each one of us feels differently about all things.  We may agree with one another but that does not mean we agree fully. That means we are all in different degrees of understanding. Continue reading

To begin to see who is in charge of our Passion

Once we can see that we have  total charge of our thoughts and our stories then we can truly begin to re-write our stories and change the process that we used in the past that allowed the thoughts we had about our conditions. Continue reading

Taking Time Out of Our Daily Lives

Once we have come  to a place where we are no longer sustaining  happiness in our every day lives, we must stop and take stock of where our thoughts and feelings are. It is right here where we should begin if and only if we need real change in our lives.

It is not easy to change in a single day. Thoughts and feelings that we have continued to keep, whether we wish to admit to ourselves that they are holding us back or not, have become our dearest friends. Continue reading

What is a belief-vs-a truth.

I think the first place I would like to start is that beliefs are the glue that hold our stories together and they are needed every step of the way.

The thing that should be addressed and looked at is like all things, our beliefs must change as we grow from a baby to a toddler, to an adolescent, the teens and young adults as well as we get to what people call old age. Continue reading
